Another one on the way - Saskatoon maternity photography

How adorable is this family?!  Mom was 39 weeks pregnant and had the baby just 4 days after our shoot!  Doesn't she look amazing?  It was really hard to choose just a few images to show you.... so many great shoots to choose from.

Happy Earth Day!!!

10 ways to live greener

1. DITCH GROCERY STORE BAGS!
More than 380 billion plastic bags are used in the North America every year. Of those, approximately 100 billion are plastic shopping bags, which cost retailers about $4 billion annually.

Good for you: reusable is cool and now stylish.

2. Change a Light Bulb
Installing a compact fluorescent bulb (CFL) is the quickest, easiest way to save energy — and money.

3. Unplug Things That Glow
Anything that has an LED (light emitting diode) that glows even after you turn it off continues to draw power (that you pay for).

Good for You: Unplug appliances and electronics that glow and you could save $200 a year.

4. Support Local Farmers
Typical grocery store produce travels nearly 1,500 miles before it ends up on your plate. All this traveling burns fossil fuels and results in carbon emissions — a fancy term for pollution. Buying from local farmers means you’re not only getting the freshest food possible, you’re saving energy.

5. Fix That Drip
When you next fill your water glass, think about this: We each use about 100 gallons a day, enough to fill 1,600 glasses. Household water consumption has increased by 200 percent since 1950.

6. Let Your Grass Grow
Spending less time tending to your lawn actually makes it greener — in every sense of the word. Most grass species fare best when they’re kept at least 2 1/2 inches tall. The length creates more surface area to absorb sunlight, which creates thicker turf and deeper roots, which means you won’t need to water as often.

7. Look for the Label
A household with Energy Star products uses about 30 percent less energy than the average household — an annual savings of about $570.

8. Do Full Loads
Whenever you wash just a few clothes or dishes at a time rather than waiting for a full load to accumulate, you’re wasting water, power, and money. The average Canadian family of four washes about 540 loads of laundry a year, which consumes up to 21,000 gallons of water, and more than 150 loads of dishes, which uses about 1,500 gallons. Let’s face it.. who likes laundry anyway?

9. Cut back on shower flow
Installing a low flow showerhead is a great way to save water and energy.

10. Recycle Your Electronics
North American's tossed out a whopping 5.5 billion pounds of electronics — TVs, stereos, cell phones, and computers.

Just another blog post....

I just came across this blog and thought this post was sooo funny that I had to share.  Maybe it's just really funny because I am a photographer, but either way, if you have 5 minutes to check it out, it's worth the read!  Have a great day,
Mandy

C & B- Wedding photography in Saskatoon

This couple was so sweet and so in love.  From the first moment I met them, I knew they were perfect for each other.  They were my last wedding of 2009.  November weddings in Saskatoon are always hit and miss, but these two lucked out and got a really beautiful day.  We went to a variety of locations around Saskatoon, and got a few with the couples HOT ride!  Looking back on these images makes me so excited for wedding season in 2010!

Maternity photography, Saskatoon

This mom-to-be left all the location ideas up to me, so I wanted to do something a little different.  Finding locations for portraits in Saskatoon can be really fun.  I found some bright backdrops to work with and think they really worked.  I also love the 'heart' graffiti.  It was perfect for this maternity session.  Thanks for stopping by!

Singing in the rain

I'm not really the dog owner who has an outfit for everyday of the week for my dog, however, when I saw this cute little rain jacket for Daisy on sale I couldn't resist, so I bought it. I got home and thought, why in the world did I buy this? I'm NEVER going to use it! LOL.

Daisy is one of those dogs that needs to be walked every day or she will get into everything. I looked outside and saw the rain with no end in sight. Then I remembered about the rain jacket I purchased several months earlier. I put it on and off we went. I was chuckling to myself the whole time, because she just looked so cute in this little rain jacket. I couldn't resist to take some pictures of her when we got home. As you can tell, Daisy wasn't so impressed! LOL!

Saskatoon family photographer

These four sisters are all living in different parts of the world and all made it home for Christmas.  They decided that while they were all in the same city to get some photo's done for their parents as a gift.  Although photography in Saskatoon is a little tricky when it's 30 below, we managed to find a nice little indoor location and made it outside for a few too.  It was so great to have a peek into their lives... they were so much fun to photograph!
